A Hop To The Hip

The design of the "A Hop to the Hip" television set is intended to immerse the viewer
(literally from the jargon "A leap into knowledge") in Hip Hop culture. The historical-iconographic research has allowed me to take into consideration sacred places for the birth of this culture, to play with them, to tear them and glue them in a varied way, precisely like a collage. And now the floor is nothing more than an open box, inside which
a writer's zone, a section of an American subway and an interpretation of the historic building located at 1520 Sedgwick Ave, icon of the birth of Hip Hop, are outlined, all surrounded by traffic lights, a fire hydrant and a road sign. The main protagonist of the scenography is the light which, through the use of LED walls and illuminated risers, makes the space more dynamic and lively.
